Tips for bright and translucent skin!

Many of my friends has been complimenting my skin lately since I started using a new skincare series. I myself do felt the difference before and after my current skincare regime. I would like to share with you the skincare I used and my journey to tackle my pigmentation issues, dealing with uneven skin tone and step I took towards overall brighter and translucent skin. These are not foolproof tips but just recommendations on ways to improve your skin complexion. Hopefully you will benefit from these tips and be inspired *wink*

My Daytime Routine includes:

1. Applying brightening serums and boosters on stubborn spots to help treat and prevent discoloration for brighter and even skin complexion. I used Dermalogica C-12 Concentrate and Extreme C from ChromaWhite TRx series to treat inner and outer skin layer for faster results.

2. Wearing a layer of sunblock to defend against harmful UV rays. I used Dermalogica Pure Light moisturizer with SPF30 from ChromaWhite TRx series for this purpose as my sunscreen on top of another layer of moisturizer as a base.

3. Keeping skin hydrated by misting the face after lunch to refresh the skin for the healthy radiated look.

4. Applying lip balm to keep lips hydrated and moisturized. Scrubbing the lips regularly will also help to remove dead skin cells leaving it softer and smoother.

My Nighttime Routine are as follows:

1. Using exfoliant after cleanser to brighten dry, uneven and dull skin complexion by removing dead cells and helping cell renewals. I used Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant which is a mild exfoliant, gentle enough to be used daily.

2. Applying masque after exfoliant regularly to rehydrate and replenish skin's moisture. I used Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque twice a week for this purpose.

Regular visits to spa for facials are not a must but remember to regularly pamper the skin with facial masques to replenish the moisture loss and exfoliate to remove dead cells. These steps will further enable the skin to absorb the goodness of your skincare.

Ombré Manicure

My first attempt to create ombré nail is kinda successful considering I managed to produce the color gradation 😃

These are the materials used to create the nail look; nail polishes (3 colors), clear top coat and a triangle makeup sponge!
Rubi I Like Pina Coladas; Essie Your Hut or Mine; Essie Lion Around, Skin Food Top Coat

Steps to create the ombre stain manicure:

1. Dampen the sponge with water initially to keep the nail polish soaking up too quickly into the sponge.
2. Line the nail polish on the sponge from dark to light or vice versa (depending on the effect you prefer). Apply two coats or more so that there's enough polish to transfer to your nail.
3. Stamp the sponge on a piece of tissue or paper to test if you have achieved the ombre effect.
4. If yes, start stamping them on your nails!
5. Continue by repeating the step above (except 3) on each nail.
6. After stamping all your nails, wait for the nail polish to dry before applying top coat to seal the color.
7. Lastly, clean up the edges with cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

Have a try and show me your ombre nail creations! =) Good luck!

Cute Drugstore Blush by Cosmagic

These adorably diamond-cut packaged blush powder by Cosmagic was obtained during my trip to Hong Kong last year. I picked this pink blush with gradient that can be conveniently used separately or together. The heart shaped portion of pink shade has the strongest color with satin finish. If you prefer lighter application, you can swirl the three colors together for softer look. And if you just need some highlight on the high areas of your cheekbone, you may also use the lightest silver shade as highlight. The texture of the blush is a bit rough, not as finely milled as high end blush, but acceptable for drugstore standard. The package comes with a tiny blush brush for on-the-go application, nicely separated with a plastic insert.

Jewellery Obsessions

Recently I found an online store selling jewelleries at a steal! That was why I was in shopping frenzy mode when I enter the site =D I picked out a few rings, earrings and necklaces.

Everything owl makes me crazy, they look so cute!!!

My golden owls collection

Eiffel Tower is my favourite Parisian landmark and wearing them reminds me of its glamour and the romantic city.

My Eiffel Tower collection

The angel's wing and peace collection

The skull and butterfly earrings were from online store and the other stud earrings were bought from Cotton On Rubi collection

The starfish earrings

I would say that the quality of the silvers are not as good as the bronze/gold jewelleries. Considered the price I paid for the goodies, I am still satisfied with them. The reason that attracted me to buy online is that I do see similar jewelleries selling in some clothing stores at double the online price! I will continue to buy from the site in future =)

New Addition to My Makeup Collection 2

The other post got a wee bit long. This post is separated to discuss on the other item of interest to me, also item of colors but this time on the eye.

E.Y.E.S.H.A.D.O.W.S...

When selecting eyeshadows, I do not go for MAC, Bobbi Brown or high end brands like Chanel, Dior, Lancome etc. They have pretty color selections or like MAC, has massive/extensive eyeshadow shades to offer. But usually I can find similarly good or of comparable quality eyeshadows from more affordable brands, such as Urban Decay, Sleek, Coastal Scents, NYX etc.

Sleek is definitely one of those must try brands. Their i-Divine eyeshadow palettes are one of most sought after products to go for variety of eyeshadow shades at affordable price (GBP 6.49 at Superdrug). Much cheaper than drugstore brands like Majolica Majorca, Kate, Maybelline, Revlon etc.

The two palettes I own are Storm and Oh So Special palette. Both are different in terms of color mood. Storm is more for creating deep eye colors especially smoky eyes while Oh So Special is for creating sweet natural look.

Sleek has lots to offer when it comes to eyeshadow palettes. They constantly launch new palettes and you will never get bored of them!
