Super Hauls!

Today, I have a mission, a huge mission; to go Gurney Plaza and grab some MAC stuffs :) The Brunette Blonde Redhead and Cremeteam collection has finally arrived last week, I took this chance to drag my bf there. Poor him, have to endure waiting for me trying out the lipsticks after lipglosses and me asking his opinion but the only response he gave me was it all look the same, what a good feedback! :P Thanks babe for the company and subsidy, kekeke!

My babies from MAC:

BBR Mineralized Skinfinish in Blonde, Cremeteam Shy Girl and Boy Bait

At first, I wanted to purchase Lavender Whip since it has received good feedbacks from fellow blogger but alas, the color is too dark purple for me, so pity :( I also tried a few lippies from the Cremeteam collection; Shy Girl and Creme Cup lipstick plus Boy Bait, Fashion Scoop and Ever So Rich lipglasses. The colors are fabulous and gorgeous! You girls should try it now if you have not done so.

I don't know why everytime when I have a product in mind to purchase, I will surely not buy the products I have in mind home. Same goes to the BBR collection, I thought I wanna take home BBR's Mineralize SkinFinish in Redhead, in the end I bought Blonde because the makeup artist told me that Blonde suits me more.

Moving on, let me tell you girls something, The Face Shop is having a SALE! They rarely have sale here, almost every items have their prices slashed by RM2 up to RM20. Yeah, so after hurting my pocket in MAC store, I hauled in TFS again.

Face Mask and Eye Patch: (from L-R) White Tree Intensive Patch, Raspberry Roots Eye Patch, Vita K and Vita B mask sheets

Anyway, I love my purchases although I burnt my whole pocket already. Loving them! :P

Muaks!

I need a new bag!

Seriously, I need to scream this out loud, I NEED A NEW BAG!!! Hehe... It has been a gazillion months that I haven't been shopping for bags. I used to be a bag addict, I believe that taking a good bag in hand is so important. But recently, I've been focusing too much on hauling makeup products that I neglect the bag addict self. Finally, I have been given the opportunity to own a new bag! How exciting! Wanna know how you can own a new bag too?

The super nice gal, ParisB has given me the chance to own a brand new handbag by holding this contest for her blog's 2nd anniversary! She lets me choose a bag of my choice from AliceWonders.com. How nice of her and AliceWonders.com ^-^

Me wants this! Me wants this! I am so thrilled!

Coco Baby Pink Quilted Chain Bag

It was LOVE at first sight. At first when I see the black Coco Black Quilted Chain Bag, I was still considering other bags on the website. But when I see this, I said to myself, "I must have this!" *Squeal*

This bag is totally ME :) It's cute, adorable yet classic and elegant. You can imagine it hanged comfortably from my shoulders. And it's the closest I can get to owning a Chanel signature 2.55!
I'm loving this bag, muaksssss.....

Francois Nars for Marc Jacobs at NYFW

Francois Nars, the founder of NARS cosmetics has finally reveal himself to the fashion world after a 10 year hiatus. He marked his return to the fashion runway by leading the makeup direction for Marc Jacob's Autumn/Winter 2009 show. It included working with 65 models, and creating 65 different makeup looks.

The master himself at work

With inspirations taken from New York night club scene of the 1970s and '80s and the works of Sprouse, St. Laurent, and Halston, Francois Nars took into consideration each model’s individual beauty before creating a separate edgy look, reminiscent of the past but still very modern. “We are doing quite an eclectic look,” he said. The inspiration for diversity came from Nars’ book XRAY. “[Marc] wanted to keep that feeling,” said Nars, “the variety of looks, the same way we do the campaigns for NARS.” Overall, it was important that each girl look beautiful, even with strong theatrical looks. Much like the fashion, Nars emphasized having fun with makeup for the coming year, despite the times we live in- “It’s a good antidote.”

Focusing on an edgy, night clubbing look, strong eyes and bold color were a major theme. Black shadow laid the foundation for creating the dramatic eye, to which the artists added cobalt blues, deep greens, bright purples, reds, fuchsias, and glitter. “There is a wide variety of color,” said Nars, “it’s whatever looks good on the girl.” For many of the models, porcelain skin was a key component, allowing the black eyes and bright colors to pop. “You want to play with makeup,” says Nars, “makeup is a great accessory - that is the message.”

Nars instructed his team to bring their entire kits, with every single shade of eye shadow, lipstick and foundation in the NARS line, which turns 15 this year. “We thought carefully about what look and palette was best for each girl,” he said. “So maybe we gave one a stretched eye, another a round eye, and some have super-strong lips, while others have completely nude ones.”

Never in my life seen so many NARS products, I'm loving it!

There were some constants in the makeup mosh pit, including NARS Cream Eyeshadow in Zardoz ($21 at narscosmetics.com), a luscious, inky shadow used to create statement eyes, and NARS Loose Powder in Snow ($34 at narscosmetics.com), which gave the girls’ skin a porcelain finish. In addition, the team tested two products being introduced next fall: Sheer Matte Foundation (available in September) and Larger Than Life Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara (in stores in October).

Gossip Girl Inspired Preppy Girl Contest

Finally, after preparing much with my dear friend and blogger, Piggy, we came up with a gossip girl inspired look. This look was prompted by Mona from Make Me Blushhh whom held this contest. So, thanks Mona for giving us this opportunity to have fun while creating the Gossip Girl look.

I myself is a very huge fan of Gossip Girl, I never missed a single episode of it, pretty scandalous life for those Upper Eastside teenagers I would say. Nevertheless, their fashion statements is something I cannot catch up with nor ever be able to own what they own. Having said I watch every single episodes, I seldom notice their makeups but rather the fashion style they portrays except for Little Jenny's skunk eye makeup during her rebellious moments (quoted by big bro Dan in cynicism hoho...)

Thus, the makeup that I create today is inspired by Blair Waldorf, my favourite Gossip Girl character :)

Bow to the Queen B when you see one

Her makeup is usually on the neutral side with brownish and burgundy shades, dark brown lined eyes, strong curved brows showing her Queen B confidence with bright pink blush on apple of cheeks and subtle pink lips.

Blair’s look is classic, conservative and makes use of shadow, therefore her choice of makeup is usually on the matte side.

Recreating Blair's makeup...

In natural light...

Close up of the eye makeup

Most of the time, her hair is permed up into classic waves, very polished and clean and not forgetting her signature headband (must have! for the preppy style).

When it comes to the outfit, she's always into skirts and dresses, worn with tights in the winter and bare legs in the warmer months. I chose wearing a white shirt tied with a ribbon, checkered skirt and boots.
How do I look huh? Do I have the Queen B's preppy chic style? Classic enough?

I can also recreate this look to suit Serena's sexy bad school girl preppy style by adding a loose tie instead of a ribbon...

Hope you LOVE it Mona!

~XOXO~

Kissable Lips for V Day

Valentines Day is here! Either we're going out for a dinner date or staying in for a movie date or just doing anything, we gotta look GREAT, not just good on this romantic day.

One particularly important thing that you must remember, make the day memorable, rekindle the love again, take your partners breath away by making your lip as kissable as possible. Don't mind the makeup, it has to pair up well with your selected lip color. Your lip should be the center of attention on this important day.

Here are the materials for my lip experiment:

  1. Majolica Majorca BE155

  2. Majolica Majorca PK384

  3. The Face Shop BR801

  4. Maybelline Mango Punch

  5. MAC Jubilee

  6. MAC Creme d' Nude
I particularly adores nude lips for this spring, be it pink or orange toned. Therefore, I have tried on a few of my lipsticks to create several combination of lip colours. Of course, we must pair nude lips with dark bold eye makeup as Fuz commented in her Beauty Faux Pas post. Hehe...totally agree with her on that! Make sure that you always wear your nude colored lipstick with gloss so that you don't look like a sick person.

Tip of the Day

To get that perfect lash, heat your eyelash curler with a blow-dryer for a few seconds (make sure it is not too hot before curling ). Heat will lock in the lengthy curl.

FOTD: Attempted Smokey Eye

My second FOTD :D, as the title explains, this is an attempted Smokey Eyes but it turned out to be not dark enough in the picture. However, pairing smokey eyes with pale lips is everyones favourite as Fuz says, I agree with her :P. I like it very much personally, the pale lips tone down the fierce smoked eyes making us looks mysterious, hoho...

Love my outfit for the day, will show you next time when I get a good angle ^-^ The overall look for the day, wore this for a CNY reunion with my ex-classmates, didn't wanna scare them with too dark eye makeup.

I'm also using UDPP as eyeshadow primer to keep the shadows lasting long...

Doesn't my lip looks pinkish all the time with whatever lipstick I put on...

These pictures were take after the gathering:

Pic #1

Pic #2

Can you spot the difference between Pic #1 & #2? hehe...not that hard to guess actually...
